Signs and Symptoms of Infected Gums

Infected gums can be a problem if they are not treated by our office right away. If you notice any of these signs or symptoms, give us a call as soon as possible. Gum infections can be caused by a number of things. Depending on the reason for the infection, you may find that treating the issue can take care of the infection and the underlying cause of infection. It is important that any infections are treated, as they can become life-threatening if they are ignored.

Watch for These Signs and Symptoms

There are signs and symptoms to watch for if you suspect that your gums are infected and need to be treated by our professionals.
Watch for any pain in the mouth, specifically around the gum line. The gums might also be tender and swollen. They might be painful to the touch and bleed when you brush them. Chewing might be painful to do and your teeth might have a sensitive feeling when you eat, drink or chew anything. Your teeth might also be loose if the infection has gotten really bad. Bad breath can also be a symptom, though this can be due to other underlying dental causes.

Usually symptoms are noticed before they become too bad. Whenever smaller symptoms are noted, it is important to speak with our professionals regarding the best care plan. Taking care of the infection can help you keep your natural teeth and have healthier, better feeling gums overall.

Dental Infections Need Immediate Attention

It is important to speak with our dental professionals if you suspect an infection in your gums, or anywhere else in your mouth. They can direct you to the best plan of action and help you heal your gums so you can get back to having a healthier, better feeling and looking smile overall. We can provide the help everyone needs when they are suffering from gum disease or other gum-related issues.
